Responsibilities
Database Administration: Manage MySQL database installation, configuration, monitoring, alerting, and backups
System Administration and Automation: Perform routine tasks on our database infrastructure utilizing Terraform, Ansible, and Puppet
Database Performance: Assist development teams with performance issues ranging from indexes to query tuning to database/OS configuration and network troubleshooting
Cloud Integration: Assist in deploying and managing databases in Azure, GCP, and Alibaba
Collaboration & Communication: Work closely with cross-functional teams including infrastructure, security, and development teams to support business needs
Qualification
Required
8+ years in MySQL database engineering
Strong understanding of the MySQL ecosystem including backup tools, monitoring solutions, and automation
Strong ability to engage with stakeholders across different time zones
Report on metrics, incidents, and service levels to leadership
Preferred
Experience managing MySQL NDB Cluster
Experience with migrating on-prem databases into Azure/GCP
Experience with OpenStack
Linux administration and networking experience
Bash/Python scripting experience
