The California Department of Tax and Fee Administration (CDTFA) is seeking a General Fund Analysis and Reconciliation Administrator. This role is responsible for overseeing General Fund related analysis and reconciliation activities while managing a team of technical staff in financial analysis and ensuring internal controls.

Responsibilities

Oversee California Department of Tax and Fee Administration (CDTFA) and Board of Equalization (BOE) departmental General Fund, which have an appropriation over $650 million and reimbursements over $225 million
Manage technical staff performing financial analysis including periodic month-end and year-end closings; ensure internal controls through reconciling the office revolving fund, accounts receivables, accounts payable, and general fund; fiscal and cash flow monitoring; and other duties
Oversee processing and analysis of general ledger adjustments related to expenditures, accounts receivables, abatements, reimbursements, and periodic closings processes
Update management on departmental fiscal operations, make recommendations, collaborate with other units in CDTFA, BOE, as well as external stakeholders such as State Controller's Office (SCO), Department of Finance (DOF), Department of General Services (DGS), Financial Information System for California (FI$CAL), and California State Auditor (CSA)

Required

Position requires employees to be fingerprinted and successfully pass a background investigation
Education: For classifications where the Minimum Qualifications (MQs) are based on meeting education requirements only: If education is required to meet the MQs please attach a copy of all of your transcripts that show the completion of the required education
Applicants who completed their education outside the United States (with foreign degrees/transcripts) must obtain and submit verification of United States course/degree equivalency by the time of appointment
To be considered, a completed Employee Application (STD-678) is required and MUST include all relevant experience: knowledge, skills, abilities, and other competencies, duties performed, 'to' and 'from' employment start and end dates (month/day/year), and hours worked per week for each position held
Completed applications and all required documents must be received or postmarked by the Final Filing Date in order to be considered

Applicants must meet the Minimum Qualifications stated in the Classification Specification(s)
A completed Supplemental Questionnaire (SQ) must be submitted with your STD. 678 in order to be considered for this position

Preferred

FI$Cal experience or similar experience with electronic accounting systems
Ability to perform well under pressure while working in a fast-paced environment and ability to make sound decisions
Cash flow and accounts receivable experience
Knowledge of General Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and other control agencies requirements a plus
Good communication skills
Experience with, and ability to, provide leadership and work in a team-based, collaborative environment that supports and promotes a diverse workforce
