Operations Lead ( 2nd Shift)

Natures Bakery is seeking an experienced Operations Lead to oversee daily operations in their food manufacturing facility. The role involves managing production processes, ensuring quality and safety standards, and leading a team to optimize efficiency and workflow.

Responsibilities

Oversee the daily operations of both ingredient processing and food packaging departments
Ensure production schedules are met while maintaining efficiency, quality, and safety
Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as production yield, downtime, and waste reduction
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize workflow and minimize bottlenecks
Troubleshoot production issues and implement corrective actions
Ensure all products meet quality and safety standards, including FDA, USDA, GMP, HACCP, and other relevant regulations
Work closely with the Quality Assurance team to uphold strict food safety protocols
Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure compliance with sanitation and operational procedures
Provide training on food safety, equipment operation, and best manufacturing practices
Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement
Ensure proper staffing levels and manage shift schedules
Oversee maintenance and troubleshooting of processing and packaging equipment
Identify opportunities to improve productivity while reducing costs and waste
Enforce workplace safety protocols to prevent accidents and injuries
Conduct risk assessments and implement safety training programs
Ensure compliance with OSHA and other safety regulations

Required

Experience in food manufacturing operations, including both ingredient processing and packaging
Strong leadership and team management skills
Knowledge of FDA, USDA, GMP, HACCP, and other relevant regulations
Ability to monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as production yield, downtime, and waste reduction
Experience in troubleshooting production issues and implementing corrective actions
Ability to conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure compliance with sanitation and operational procedures
Experience in providing training on food safety, equipment operation, and best manufacturing practices
Ability to foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement
Experience in overseeing maintenance and troubleshooting of processing and packaging equipment
Ability to enforce workplace safety protocols to prevent accidents and injuries
Experience in conducting risk assessments and implementing safety training programs
Compliance with OSHA and other safety regulations
Must be computer literate and proficient in using Outlook, Teams, RedZone, and other company software programs

Preferred

5+ years of experience in food manufacturing operations
Experience with LEAN manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement initiatives
Proficiency in production planning, inventory control, and process optimization
Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally
