Responsibilities
Supervises laboratory personnel in performing routine and specialized testing procedures
Develops and implements quality control programs to ensure the accuracy and reliability of laboratory results
Assists with staffing, scheduling, and training laboratory personnel
Ensures compliance with state and federal regulations, including CLIA, CAP, and TJC standards
Monitors laboratory equipment and coordinates maintenance and calibration
Assists in budgeting, purchasing of laboratory supplies, and inventory management
Reviews test results to ensure accuracy and adherence to quality control protocols
Provides technical guidance and resolves testing-related issues
Assists with proficiency testing and ensures corrective actions are implemented when needed
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology, Chemistry, Biology, or related field required
Minimum of 3 years of clinical laboratory experience with supervisory or leadership responsibilities in a high complexity testing environment
Strong leadership and organizational skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
Knowledge of laboratory methods, procedures, and regulatory standards
Proficient in the use of laboratory equipment and related software
Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities under pressure
Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a safe work environment
Preferred
Certification as a Medical Technologist (MT) or Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) by a nationally recognized agency preferred
State license as required
Current BLS certification
Certification as MT or MLS preferred
