Responsibilities
Lead, mentor, and manage a team of network engineers and administrators
Assign tasks, set goals, and ensure the team meets performance and project deadlines
Conduct regular team meetings and performance reviews
Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of the organization’s network infrastructure
Ensure the reliability, performance, and security of network systems, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless networks
Plan, coordinate, and execute network-related projects, ensuring timely and within-budget completion
Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to understand and meet their network requirements
Monitor network performance and proactively identify and resolve issues
Implement and manage network monitoring tools and protocols
Conduct root cause analysis of network outages and implement corrective actions
Manage relationships with network equipment vendors and service providers
Evaluate and negotiate contracts to ensure cost-effective and high-quality service delivery
Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of network configurations, policies, and procedures
Generate regular network performance and status reports for senior management
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Network Engineering, or a related field
Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in network engineering or network management, with at least 2-3 years in a supervisory role
Proven track record of managing and delivering network projects
In-depth knowledge of network protocols, routing, switching, and network security
Proficiency with network monitoring and management tools
Preferred
A master's degree is a plus
Relevant certifications such as Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), CompTIA Network+, or Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
Experience with cloud networking solutions (e.g., AWS, Azure) is a plus
