Responsibilities
Conduct and document weekly, monthly, and quarterly facility inspections
Ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT, and local/state building codes
Maintain maintenance logs, vendor records, and facility work orders
Assess vehicle condition, identify worn or damaged parts, and perform necessary diagnostic tests
Perform diagnostics and minor repairs on Class A trucks, including brakes, electrical systems, suspension, and engine components
Conduct routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire rotations, and fluid checks
Conduct test drives and fine‑tune vehicle controls and systems
Document all services and repairs in fleet management software
Qualification
Required
Class A Diesel Mechanic Certification or equivalent hands-on experience
High School Diploma or GED required
Strong knowledge of safety practices, mechanical inspection tools, and supply management
Demonstrated technical understanding, attention to detail, and dependability
Effective verbal communication and documentation skills
Experience with inventory control and maintaining accurate records
Must provide a basic set of hand tools
Proficiency with diagnostic tools, hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment
Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and communicate effectively
Preferred
Technical or trade school preferred
