Maxim Crane Works, LP is seeking an Engineering Intern to work closely with their team of Engineers, Sales, and field staff. The role involves supporting the fleet of rental equipment and undertaking special engineering and research projects under the supervision of the Director of Engineering.

Responsibilities

Assist in reviewing project drawings and plans to perform calculations
Support the development of crane layouts and rigging details for crane lifts in private, commercial, and industrial settings
Use AutoCAD or similar drafting software to create 2D design documents and 3D models under the guidance of senior team members
Assist in preparing documentation for customers, including project plans and progress updates
Perform ground bearing pressure calculations for track-mounted and outrigger-based cranes, as directed
Provide general support to the engineering team for drafting, design work, and analysis tasks
Perform other duties or tasks as assigned to support project needs

Required

Currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline or technical degree
Basic understanding of applied geometry and statics
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Exposure to AutoCAD (2D) or similar drafting software; 3D modeling experience is a plus
Effective communication and teamwork skills
Eagerness to learn and apply engineering principles in a real-world setting

Preferred

Previous internship, co-op experience, or project-related coursework is a plus but not required
