Mechanical Engineer 5
Raas Infotek is seeking a Mechanical Engineer 5 to support electrified powertrain architecture and controls using model-based engineering and MATLAB/Simulink. The role involves front-end product architecture and simulation to solve complex electrified powertrain problems while collaborating with design and validation teams.
Responsibilities
Develop and use 1D system-level simulations and controls-based models
Support system architecture decisions for electrified powertrains
Qualification
Required
Strong simulation expertise
Model‑based engineering
First‑principles modeling
MATLAB / Simulink (primary tool)
Algorithm development
Control logic implementation
Function block–based modeling
Controls experience (not IT controls, focus on control algorithms within system simulations)
Strong systems‑level thinking
Experience sizing and architecting batteries
Experience sizing and architecting power converters
Experience sizing and architecting electric motors
Experience sizing and architecting gearboxes
Understanding of how complete electric powertrains work together
Not looking for a narrow domain expert (e.g., thermal only)
Preferred
Experience with medium‑ to high‑voltage systems (Voltage ranges: 48V to 1500V+, up to ~3 kV)
Python is a preferred but not mandatory skill
Some simulation notebooks and workflows are Python‑based
Ideal candidate can work in both MATLAB / Simulink and Python
Candidates strong in one but weaker in the other are still acceptable
