Responsibilities
Accurately pre-registers patients for appointments and tests
Verifies and updates patient demographic and insurance information
Understands and identifies insurance types
Validates contract status of insurance with Loyola for physicians and facility to ensure maximum reimbursement and correct payment
Verifies insurance information for each patient appointment
Reviews accuracy and makes appropriate changes as needed
Reminds patient of any financial obligations and documents appropriately
Collects Payments Reminds patients to obtain necessary referral forms and/or additional documentation and bring to clinic/ancillary department to ensure highest allowable reimbursement
Qualification
Required
High School Diploma or equivalent
Two (2) or Five (5) years' experience in area of expertise such as scheduling, financial clearance, or patient access
Must be able to Schedule Outpatient Appointments using BookIt in Epic
Demonstrated Customer Service Experience in a High-Volume Healthcare Call Center
Effectively navigate multiple screens and resources materials
Strong understanding of Windows Operating System (OS)
Must be comfortable working independently with little oversight upon successful completion of training
Preferred
Cisco Finesse Phone System Handle Experience Strongly Preferred
Epic Strongly Preferred
Strong grammatical writing skills are preferred, with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively
