Responsibilities

Design, oversee and manage Annual Giving's data segmentation and reporting tools. Serve as the department's data expert, consistently reporting on trends with annual giving performance and providing reports and analysis on an ongoing basis to enable decision making on annual giving strategies and tactics. (40%)
Create and manage dashboards that provide insights into annual giving key performance indicators such as retention, acquisition, upgrades, etc. Conduct regular reviews of these dashboards with the director of annual giving and engagement, along with the executive director and vice president. Identify trends and patterns within the data and make recommendations on program strategies and tactics based on data observations. (40%)
Monitor data for integrity of information, working collaboratively with departments across the university to conduct regular audits and maintain database accuracy. (10%)
Provide recommendations for segmenting data, personalization and target groups for solicitations and stewardship efforts, ensure accurate data pulls for those efforts. (10%)
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned. (<1%)

Required

3 to 5 years of professional experience in a related field, preferably in a sophisticated development operation; experience in data analytics statistics or annual giving strongly desired
Experience in advancement operations, business operations, or fundraising analytics in a higher education setting preferred
Bachelor's degree required
Strong data analytics and problem-solving skills with an ability to identify trends, create data visualizations, make recommendations to colleagues and accurately report on key performance indicators
Demonstrated knowledge of quantitative and qualitative analysis
An ability to oversee complex projects and processes with an attention to details while meeting deadlines even with frequent interruptions
Ability to communicate well, both verbally and in writing, with key stakeholders providing business analysis to drive performance
Develop collaborative relationships with colleagues outside of the annual giving team
Articulates complex ideas clearly, accurately, and concisely
Must possess strong organizational and time management skills
Understanding of the principles of fundraising, donor acquisition and donor retention
Work with sensitive donor information, maintain confidentiality and use discretion
Keep and maintain accurate and detailed reports and records
Demonstrated ability to collaborate with all levels of staff, donors, and prospective donors
Ability to interact with colleagues, supervisors, and customers face to face
Computer proficiency (including Microsoft Office) and the ability to learn new programs
Proficiency working in CRMs and data visualization platforms
Demonstrated history of successful support, education, and advocacy for all students, aligned with the values, mission, and messaging of the university, while adhering to the staff policy on conflict of commitment and interest
Ability to meet consistent attendance
