Responsibilities

Provide signal and engineering analysis on devices that threaten the safety of both the warfighter and law enforcement personnel
Apply advanced technical solutions in support of law enforcement investigations
Perform technical examinations required to successfully exploit both commercial and custom electronic devices
Conduct electronic data recovery and digital forensic examinations to identify and understand information of interest
Conduct reverse engineering and characterization of both the electrical function and communication characteristics of electronic circuits
Use complex instrumentation to test circuit function
Capture critical information regarding the device’s functionality and provide detailed analysis reports to law enforcement organizations, military services, and international partners

Required

5+ years of experience testing electronic or electrical devices with standard lab equipment, including oscilloscopes, power supplies, RF signal generators, waveform generators, audio analyzers, DSP analyzers, and multimeters
5+ years of experience performing analysis, generating schematics, and troubleshooting electronic or electrical devices to the component level in various conditions
Knowledge of electronic circuit design and PCB layout
Knowledge of physical interfaces used for inter-IC communication, including I2C, SPI, LPC, or PCIE
Ability to prepare written documents, including reports, test plans, design specifications, requirements documents, and training materials
Ability to brief and present findings to clients, customers, and external partners, interact with client engineers, and respond to technical questions and requests from customers
Ability to travel internationally up to 10% of the time
Top Secret clearance
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering

Preferred

Experience with Chain of Custody and evidence handling procedures in a forensic laboratory
Experience imaging, extracting, and parsing data from electronic devices
Experience with reverse engineering tools, including IDA Pro, OllyDbg, or Ghidra
Knowledge of microcontroller architecture, including ARM or RISC-V, and assembly language programming
Ability to program with Python, C, and C++ programming languages
