Systems V&V Engineer Extraordinaire

JetZero is developing a blended-wing body aircraft aimed at reducing CO2 emissions in air travel. The Systems V&V Engineer will lead system-level verification and validation activities, collaborating with various engineering teams to ensure compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

Partner with system owners (avionics, flight controls, electrical, …) to align verification approaches
Work alongside test engineering to develop test setups, instrumentation, and config control
Develop and maintain system-level V&V plans, test plans, test procedures, and test reports
Define and trace verification methods (analysis, test, ...) to system requirements and functions
Perform system-level testing, including bench, integration lab, and flight testing
Participate in design reviews and risk assessments to ensure system maturity and airworthiness
Various project management tasks as required
Detailed understanding of civil aviation standards and practices
Excellent verbal and written interpersonal communication

Required

Bachelor's or Master's in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field
Experience in EWIS architecture development for transport or commercial aircraft
Strong understanding of FAA/EASA Part 25 EWIS requirements and related guidance material (AC 25.1701-1, AMC 20-22, etc.)
Proficiency with wire schematics and harness design in Siemens Capital
Create and maintain electrical standard parts catalog, BOM, and wiring list
Support other systems to define equipment interfaces and harmonize across systems to support wiring interconnects
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
Excellent communication skills, capable of working across disciplines
5+ years in aircraft system test
Strong understanding of systems engineering principles and the V-model lifecycle
Experience with requirements management and test management tools
Experience in validation and verification of complex aircraft systems specifically in the aerospace testing process: planning, procedures, execution, and reports
Ability to analyze technical data, troubleshoot test failures, and drive root-cause investigations, and document results clearly
Comfortable wearing multiple hats, intellectual curiosity, and good cross-functional versatility

Preferred

Direct experience with airplane development programs especially experimental designs
Firsthand background in test planning and execution
Familiarity with digital thread approaches (CAD/FEA/PLM)
