Engineering Technician

They are seeking a skilled Machinist (Engineering Technician III) to program, set up, and operate CNC machines for precision components in support of national defense efforts.

Responsibilities
The Machinist will be responsible for programming, setting up, and operating CNC lathes and mills, primarily Haas, Fadal, or ProtoTrak machines
This includes installing tools, creating fixtures for complex parts, and ensuring that all machined components meet tight tolerances as specified in DoD drawings
The role requires precise measurement and inspection of parts using tools such as dial calipers and micrometers to verify quality during and after machining
The Machinist will also operate saws and occasionally manual lathes and mills to support manufacturing processes
Adherence to safety protocols is critical, and the Machinist will utilize government-provided safety equipment, including safety glasses and safety boots
Collaboration with team members to troubleshoot machining issues, improve processes, and ensure timely delivery of parts is essential
The role may involve assisting colleagues with programming, setup, and machining techniques, fostering a team-oriented environment focused on continuous improvement and operational excellence
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or equivalent
Minimum of five years of professional experience operating CNC milling machines and lathes
Proficiency in drawing and programming using CAD/CAM software
Basic skills in Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, and Outlook
Strong understanding of reading and interpreting machinist drawings, including Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
Competence in using precision measuring tools like dial calipers and micrometers for inspection purposes
Effective communication skills to interact with team members, management, and clients
Willingness to assist others with programming and setup tasks
Ability to lift up to 75 pounds
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
Ability to perform periodic twisting, bending, and squatting
Security clearance at the Secret level
US citizenship to obtain and maintain security clearance
