Responsibilities
Configure servers, storage subsystems, networking devices, and workstations
Integrate hardware and configure software applications to customer requirements
Perform racking, stack, cabling, and documentation of rack build-outs
Manage customer sales orders to meet the required ship date
Update firmware, bios, and configurations to meet customer requirements
Install operating systems and hypervisors
Perform imaging and asset tagging of customer assets
Provide pre-sales and post-sales technical support
Communicate with sales teams about any impact on order status
Assist with customer questions regarding systems
Conduct technical research (online, telephone, or documentation)
Troubleshoot system configuration conflicts
Qualification
Required
Minimum Associate degree (A. A.) or equivalent from a two-year College or technical school or equivalent combination of education and experience
A minimum of three years of related experience and/or training
Experience working in a Windows environment as well as Linux
Demonstrated competency in conducting technical research to support troubleshooting
Demonstrated ability to provide technical support to sales staff and customers is required
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of an organization
Must be professional both in appearance and demeanor
Excellent oral and written communication skills are required, as well as the ability to be flexible and adapt in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Must be team-oriented and be able to work overtime
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
