OPS Web Designer
The University of South Florida is seeking a creative and versatile Web Designer for their Motorcycle Injury Prevention team. This role involves designing and maintaining WordPress websites and creating engaging digital and print content to support traffic safety campaigns.

Responsibilities
Web Design & Maintenance: Design and maintain custom WordPress websites, ensuring high-quality visual appeal and responsive functionality
Visual Content Creation: Develop high-impact graphics for social media campaigns and traditional print materials (brochures, posters, etc.) to support traffic safety initiatives
Brand Consistency: Collaborate with the research team to ensure all digital and print assets align with campaign goals and messaging
Optimization: Improve website performance, security, and SEO while ensuring a seamless user experience across all devices
Troubleshooting: Debug issues and stay current with WordPress best practices and emerging design trends
Qualification
Required
Proven experience in graphic design and web design, with a strong portfolio showcasing both digital and print work
Skilled in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and WordPress theme customization
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate research goals into compelling visual narratives
Proficiency in design tools and a solid understanding of responsive design and SEO principles
A Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Communications, Design, IT) with three years of experience working on CMS websites, or a total of six years of related experience
Four years of direct experience for a bachelor's degree
Senate Bill 1310- The Florida Senate is conditional upon meeting all employment eligibility requirements in the U.S
Related work experience may not substitute for any required licensure, certification, or registration required for the position of employment as established by the public employer and indicated in the advertised description of the position of employment
Minimum Qualifications that require a high school diploma are exempt from SB 1310
Preferred
Experience with PHP and MySQL for deeper CMS customization
Familiarity with JavaScript frameworks (React, Vue.js) or e-commerce platforms (WooCommerce)
Experience with social media management and analytics
