Responsibilities
Lead the ideation, design and execution of General Assembly equipment & technologies
Collaborate with product design to optimize manufacturability
Deliver conveyance and automation systems that challenge the status quo
Support existing production lines through continuous improvement
Define manufacturing technologies & strategies, maximizing space utilization and manufacturing efficiency
Collaborate with design to optimize interaction between equipment and product
End-to-end ownership of equipment introduction, covering all milestones from RFQ, SOW, design, fabrication, FAT, installation, commissioning, SAT to finally ramp
Support vendor selection and negotiations to optimize financial spending
Ensure effective handover of new equipment to operations and sustaining teams
Actively engaged in value engineering, challenge assumptions and break the status quo
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in engineering or similar technical field
5+ years of experience in an engineering role related to DFMA, product optimization, manufacturing process or equipment development
Strong knowledge in manufacturing and industrial engineering principles, including OEE, cycle time analysis, DVA, Cp/Cpk, GR&R, ergonomics, DOE, quality control, equipment selection, PFMEA, ROI analysis, error proofing, supply chain & logistics
Demonstrated ability to solve complex technical problems using first principles, challenge assumptions and biased towards action
Demonstrated ability to work independently and with cross functional teams
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
Experienced working within 2D & 3D CAD environments and various engineering tools
