Responsibilities

Works with operational business units to define requirements as it relates to technology systems and operational projects which add value to Operations
Assists the appropriate Product Manager in planning activities, identifying the functional/technical scope of solution, ensuring solution integration across all functional/process areas and coordinating communication and training planning for system implementation
Facilitates root cause analysis for solution defects that impact application reliability and drive issues towards prompt resolution
Maintains documentation as appropriate
Develops project roadmap, release plan, resource allocation, funding request, communication plan, risks and issues management plan, test plan, and defect management plan

Required

Bachelor's degree with or equivalent experience
3 years of relevant work experience
Knowledge of American Airlines' procedures with a background in Operations
Knowledge of American Airlines' operational systems
Possess an understanding of interactions with IT solutions, advanced Agile knowledge – served as a member of an operational product team
Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of leadership both written and verbally
Strong analysis capabilities with an ability to manage competing priorities & problem solving
Skills in leadership; team-focused with high energy and a positive attitude
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Tools (Project, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)

Preferred

5 years of operations experience
5 years of experience in Agile methods and mindset as an approach to software development
5 years of progressive broad-based information systems and business experience
5 years of experience managing and delivering mission-critical, high-availability large and small IT projects using Agile or Waterfall development methodologies
