Responsibilities
Manage long/short portfolios daily, monitoring risk exposures, margin utilization, leverage, and short locates while ensuring adherence to each account’s mandate and investment guidelines
Oversee the trade lifecycle for long and short positions (e.g. corporate actions, booking, collateral flows, etc.) partnering with middle office, operations, and prime brokers
Work with technologists, strategists, and researchers to enhance portfolio construction, risk monitoring, performance attribution, and implementation tools (OMS, Dashboards, etc.) for long/short portfolios
Help launch new and innovative mandates in existing or new investment vehicles
Contribute to thought leadership, highlighting our strategies’ effectiveness across different client contexts
Consider tax-awareness throughout research and portfolio implementation including awareness of US tax regulations relevant to long/short equity investing
Ensure compliance with all internal and external rules and regulations
Qualification
Required
5+ years of equity portfolio management experience, preferably with long/short portfolios and quantitative investment strategies
Undergraduate and/or graduate degree in mathematics, computer science, financial engineering, or other STEM-related background
Computer programming experience with a focus on portfolio implementation (e.g., Python, MATLAB, R, etc.)
Creative, diverse problem-solving skills, solid economic intuition, and good commercial instinct
Exceptional attention to detail, careful/thorough, well organized, effective time management
Thrive in a team-oriented and collaborative environment and brings a great attitude to work
Excellent communication skills
Preferred
Quantitative equity research experience is a plus
