Executive Creative Director

The Executive Creative Director is responsible for leading the internal creative services team and managing external ad agency partners, developing and executing a cohesive creative strategy that enhances the brand image and ensures a consistent brand voice across all communication channels.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement a comprehensive creative strategy that aligns with business objectives and elevates the HMH brand to national prominence
Act as the primary brand guardian, ensuring all creative output is consistent with our brand identity, values, and voice across all channels, with a heavy emphasis on digital mediums
Provide senior creative direction on all marketing needs including logo and brand architecture design, collateral development, advertising campaigns, brand guidelines, digital creative needs, copywriting, content creation and more
Collaborate with internal/external partners on strategizing progress of creative functionalities, making relevant changes for competing with market standards, understanding threats from competitors, and developing future strategic plans
Assess consumer research findings related to brand creative and prepare a strategic path forward for distinctive work that sets HMH apart from competitors
Lead, mentor, and inspire a multi-disciplinary in-house creative team, fostering a culture of creativity, innovation, and collaboration
Guide the professional development of team members, providing opportunities for growth and nurturing a positive and inclusive work environment where great ideas are born and can thrive
Oversee the entire creative process from concept to completion for all advertising and marketing campaigns. This includes directing brainstorming sessions, developing creative concepts, and ensuring the timely delivery of high-quality work
Balance art and ownability with business objectives and meeting Key Performance Indicators (KPI) to drive growth at a brand and service line level. Proactively pitch new ideas and campaigns in support of marketing plans
Oversee the production of creative outputs (e.g., advertisements, TV commercials, photoshoots, video shoots, etc.)
Serve as a primary point of contact for external advertising agency partners, ensuring they are aligned with HMH’s brand goals and strategies
Manage these relationships to produce creatively outstanding and effective work, and transfer this work seamlessly to the in-house creative team for maximum utilization and efficiency
Partner closely with key stakeholders across the organization, including marketing leaders, to understand priorities and guide the creation of compelling creative that drives results
Manage creative departments' overall budget, ensuring projects are delivered within guidelines
Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and new creative methodologies to ensure marketing and advertising efforts are innovative and effective
Identify and leverage trends to gain an advantage in our highly competitive market
Evolve network brand and develop creative marketing strategies to embrace and leverage increasingly non-linear consumption patterns of today’s consumer

Required

Bachelor's degree in Advertising, Design, Marketing, or a related field
Minimum of 15 years of experience in the creative industry, with at least 7 years in a senior leadership role managing creative teams in an agency environment
Demonstrated ability to look across a range of channels and stay current with the latest ways to reach consumers
Proven track record of producing high-impact, award-caliber, distinctive creative work, preferably within healthcare
Robust portfolio showcasing successful, award-caliber creative work across various media (digital, print, and video)
Proven ability to lead, manage, and motivate a creative team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment. Able to receive, manage, and respond appropriately to feedback
Strong client-facing presentation skills with the ability to articulate and sell creative concepts effectively
Demonstrated ability to translate business and marketing objectives into powerful creative strategies. Ability to digest campaign data and pivot creative and messaging for optimization
Excellent organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proficient computer skills that include but are not limited to Google Suite and/or Microsoft Office platforms

Preferred

Experience in healthcare advertising is strongly preferred
