Director of Human Resources

Responsibilities
Recruits, interviews, hires, trains, and supervises HR department staff, including HR Generalists, Recruiting, Training, and Event Planning (5–6 employees)
Oversee daily workflow and assign duties to ensure quality, compliance, and efficiency
Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations; promotes, recognizes, disciplines, and terminates employees in accordance with company policy and applicable laws
Provides day-to-day leadership, mentorship, and professional development for HR staff
Collaborates with executive leadership to align human resources strategy with corporate goals, including staffing, recruiting, retention, succession planning, and organizational development
Develops, implements, and manages HR departmental goals, policies, initiatives, and budgets
Collaborates and advises senior leadership on complex and sensitive human resources matters and workforce planning decisions
Understands and supports the needs of a high-growth marketing technology organization
Directs and oversees company-wide human resource programs including compensation, benefits, payroll administration (Paylocity), leave administration, performance management, training and development, diversity initiatives, employee recognition, morale, and engagement
Develops and manages recruiting, retention, onboarding, and exit interview processes; analyzes trends and communicates findings to leadership
Oversees employee relations activities including counseling, investigations, conflict resolution, policy interpretation, and disciplinary actions
Directs the development and coordination of training programs, leadership development, career progression, and performance appraisal systems
Conducts research and analysis of organizational trends, including review of reports and metrics from the organization’s human resource information system (HRIS) or talent management system
Monitors and ensures the organization’s compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews and modifies policies and practices to maintain compliance
Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law; applies this knowledge to communicate changes in policy, practice, and resources to upper management
Creates and delivers presentations regarding HR policies, practices, and workforce initiatives to executives, employees, or government officials as required
Supports corporate initiatives, internal communications, and company-wide events
Performs other duties as assigned or required to support organizational needs
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field required
At least 5 years of progressive human resource management experience is required
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills
Strong supervisory and leadership skills, with the ability to influence and inspire others
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to adapt to the needs of the organization and employees
Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate
Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations
Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
Ability to function well in a high-paced environment with multiple demands, shifting priorities, ambiguity, and rapid change
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite, and related software
Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization's HRIS and talent management systems
