Responsibilities
Plans machining process by studying work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, materials, specifications, orthographic drawings, reference planes, locations of surfaces, and machining parameters; interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T)
Plans stock inventory by checking stock to determine amount available; anticipating needed stock; placing and expediting orders for stock; verifying receipt of stock
Programs mills and lathes, including zero and reference points; setting tool offsets, tool compensation, and; calculating speed and feeds, including basic math, geometry, and trigonometry; proving part programs
Use of overhead hoists and fork truck for material movement
Provide suggested preventative measures, to ensure inherent and robust machine capability
Responsible for making recommendations in regard to process improvements as well as new technology
Train personnel as required
Qualification
Required
High School Diploma/GED Equivalent
Understanding of work holding, collets, and tooling
Ability to read engineering prints and understanding of GD&T
Machining of various materials such as steel, stainless, tool steel and plastic
Conversational programming and understanding of G & M code
Must possess good written and oral communication skills
Employ critical thinking, logic, and reasoning to troubleshoot and solve problems
Ability to lift 50lbs

Preferred
3-10 years of related experience and/or training in CNC Machining
