Responsibilities
Assist/lead in promoting safety culture; communicate safety to Paper Test Lab operations
Review daily quality data; Supervise paper test lab; Maintain and calibrate all lab testing equipment; Provide customer samples to sales as requested; Analyze data to improve customer first-time-right; Write training documents for paper test lab; Provide technical support for Sales and Customers; Lead Continuous Improvement projects
Support paper and pulp mill to optimize acceptance, availability and speed
Support the training of all Paper Test Lab employees and support daily, fill in for other Quality positions as necessary
Support production in optimization chemical usage through grade design/review
Supporting food safety initiatives among familiarization in regulatory requirements for our customers
Must follow Ahlstrom’s manufacturing, hygiene, and food safety processes and procedures, as applicable to the position’s areas of responsibility, in order to meet and maintain the safety, quality, and regulatory compliance requirements for each grade of paper
Qualification
Required
3-5 years of paper experience (technical, quality, or production)
Associates degree in related field or equivalent work experience
Ability to travel, work weekends, holidays and overtime as needed
Applicants should be well organized, responsible, and have the ability to supervise in a union environment
