5G RAN Operations Engineer
IntePros is seeking a highly skilled 5G RAN Operations Engineer to support and independently manage a regional market within a large-scale 5G network environment. This role is responsible for monitoring, troubleshooting, restoring, and continuously improving the performance of the 5G RAN network.

Responsibilities
Provide Tier II onsite and remote operational support for nationwide 5G Core, RAN, Transport, and Fronthaul networks
Monitor network alarms, detect incidents, troubleshoot service impairments, and restore service during outages
Quickly analyze RAN service and system issues, implement corrective actions, and escalate complex issues as needed
Execute corrective actions ranging from hardware resets to network function stop/restarts
Support outage restoration efforts in coordination with Tier I NOC, Field Operations, vendors, and leadership
Document incidents, corrective actions, and escalations in enterprise ticketing systems
Enter, update, and manage Trouble Tickets with detailed technical information
Collect traces and diagnostics using vendor-specific tools and network probes
Produce Root Cause Analyses (RCAs), outage statistics, and lessons learned for leadership
Verify and correct Method of Procedure (MOP) documentation for production activities
Support new 5G site turn-ups and fronthaul transport deployments
Conduct construction site pre-walks and validate operational safety
Perform semi-annual and annual site maintenance and accurately document activities
Support post-maintenance monitoring and site health checks
Participate in ongoing process improvement initiatives to increase uptime and operational efficiency
Identify opportunities for automation and improved monitoring workflows
Collaborate with engineering teams to document troubleshooting methods and best practices
Support future CI/CD, orchestration, and automation initiatives as solutions mature
Train and mentor Tier I NOC technicians to improve daily operations and escalation readiness
Engage vendor support teams during critical and time-sensitive incidents
Collaborate cross-functionally with Field Operations, Performance Engineering, transport teams, and executive stakeholders
Qualification
Required
Ability to work out of the Lake County, IN market (must live near Highland, IN)
2+ years of transport network experience, including backhaul and fronthaul troubleshooting
Strong experience with: Alarm monitoring, fault identification, event tracking, and remediation
Strong experience with: Wireless network analysis and performance troubleshooting
Strong experience with: Ticketing and incident management systems
Advanced understanding of: Cell site topology
Advanced understanding of: Transport and RF KPIs
Advanced understanding of: OSI Layer concepts
Proven ability to work effectively in high-stress, outage-driven environments
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present technical findings to leadership
Ability to multitask, prioritize, and resolve issues quickly with high accuracy
Willingness to support after-hours outages when required
Preferred
Samsung 5G experience (USM or WFM strongly preferred)
Samsung Certification in 5G Deployment and Integration (Radio & CUDU)
Knowledge of 5G RAN split architectures (7-2x, RU, DU, CU, CP, UP)
Experience working with virtualized ORAN functions
Ability to read and interpret RAN artifacts (CIQs, network diagrams, call flows, deployment MOPs)
Prior experience creating and presenting RCAs to executive audiences
OSHA 10 Certification and RF Awareness (preferred but not required)
