Responsibilities
Maintains and administers core networking devices including firewalls, switches, routers, wireless controllers, and access points
Maintains and administers various wide area and local area networks to ensure correct functionality and configuration
Maintains and administers VOIP phone systems and networks
Serves as the primary point of contact for vendors and partners on network-related issues, products, and services
Performs periodic network inventory and configuration audit tasks
Leads IT projects and works them to completion
Schedules and coordinates network hardware maintenance windows with support personnel
Provides remote support and participates in on-call rotations as required
Maintains and implements processes, policies, and procedures related to network services and equipment
Research and tests new and emerging systems and network technologies; provides recommendations to the Operations Manager
Performs other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
B.S. degree in Computer Science or Engineering required
Alternatively, an additional 4 years (14 total) of highly relevant full-time experience may be considered in lieu of a 4-year degree
Minimum of 10 years of full-time, relevant experience in network design and support (LAN, WAN, and wireless)
Experience designing and supporting VOIP systems and QoS/CoS
Strong knowledge of network protocols (BGP, MPLS, VPN, OSPF, TCP/IP, STP)
Experience with authentication and authorization technologies (802.1x, NAC, Aruba ClearPass, Cisco ISE, or equivalent) and ACLs
VPN technologies including site-to-site, IPSEC, and always-on VPN clients
Experience with switches, routers, and firewalls
Experience supporting environments managed by service providers
Demonstrated technical documentation skills
Proven ability to communicate effectively with internal departments
Preferred
Experience working in a highly regulated industry
Familiarity with Fortinet, Aruba OS, and Aruba OS-CX
Relevant certifications (Cisco, Aruba, or others)
Linux support and administration experience
Experience with 21 CFR Part 610 or ISO 25746
Must be eligible to work under Department of Energy 10 CFR Part 810
