Responsibilities
Maintains excellent customer service skills
Maintains basic knowledge of medical billing terminology
Ability to verify patients’ demographics & insurance information
Ability to interpret & explain an EOB
Ability to explain the difference between a copay, coinsurance, and deductible
Collaborate with patients to set up payment arrangements
Prepare invoices and record payments
Collect patient payment information
Send receipts and/or itemized bills to appropriate party
Other administrative support duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
At least 1 year of experience in medical billing
High School Diploma or GED required
Excellent communication, computer skills, and ability to pay attention to detail
Positive attitude that welcomes teamwork
Ability to multitask effectively
Experience with medical billing codes and terminology
Preferred
At least 1 year of experience working with EMR and ECW preferred
