Transportation Engineer 9-12 (Maintenance Structure Engineer
The State of Michigan is seeking a Transportation Engineer for the Bureau of Bridges and Structures, which serves as the statewide structural authority for MDOT owned bridges and structures. This entry-level position will provide routine statewide bridge maintenance program support and engineering services, requiring statewide travel to various jobsites.

Responsibilities
Providing routine statewide bridge maintenance program support, guidance, and engineering services for the 7 MDOT regions, contract agencies, local agencies, statewide region support unit, and bridge authorities
Participating in inspection, evaluation, and documentation of culvert maintenance repairs
Qualification
Required
Possession of a bachelor of science degree in engineering
Possess a valid driver's license
All newly hired state employees are required to submit and pass a pre-employment drug test and physical (if applicable) prior to their actual appointment
Criminal and driving records will also be checked if applicable
Preferred
Possession of a bachelor of science degree in civil engineering is preferred
We may consider applicants that will be obtaining a bachelor's degree by May 31, 2026
