Help Desk Support Specialist
City of Ann Arbor is seeking a Help Desk Support Specialist to provide first line technical support to its IT users. The role involves troubleshooting software, hardware, and network issues, implementing new hardware/software, and documenting procedures.

Responsibilities
Provides first line technical support to the City’s Information Technology (IT) users
Responds to a variety of service requests including, troubleshooting of software, hardware and network issues, implements new hardware/software, documents procedures, problems and resolutions
Works on related IT projects
Qualification
Required
Associate's degree in computer science, information technology or related field
Professional experience in working with computers and applications: at least 1 year
Knowledge of computer hardware, software and networks
Knowledge and experience in computer scripting
Have or be able to obtain Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) certification within one (1) year of date-of-hire
Have or be able to obtain Comp TIA A+ Certification within one (1) year of date-of-hire
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
The City of Ann Arbor, at its discretion, may consider an alternative combination of formal education and work experience
Valid MI Driver's License
Preferred
Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology or related field
At least two years of experience in working with computers and applications
Microsoft Certified Solution Expert (MCSE) and/or Microsoft Specialist certification
Knowledge and experience in computer programming/scripting
