Responsibilities
Greet all customers with a friendly smile, maintaining first and last impressions in the lobby
Manage high-volume calls and appointment scheduling
Answer high-volume medical and scheduling calls in a timely and courteous manner, while also servicing in-person customers
Maintain accurate scheduling based on veterinarian schedules and available resources
Respond and appropriately handle emergency situations in a calm, professional and effective manner
Create service estimates
Ensure confirmation of next day's appointments
Maintain online pharmacy order requests in a timely manner
Properly discharge hospitalized patients when assistants or technicians cannot perform discharges
Provide clients with necessary post-operative or post-hospitalization instructions (both oral and written) and provide the client with all necessary medications
Qualification
Required
High school diploma OR GED
One year experience in a customer service OR receptionist position required
Ability to speak fluently and write in English and Spanish
Requires above average clerical skills, including legible handwriting, spelling and grammar as well as strong interpersonal and customer service skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook and Windows Explorer; able to learn other software programs as necessary
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute, ratio and percent
