Responsibilities
Safety Compliance: Follow all safety rules, wear PPE, and report equipment or safety concerns
Physical Tasks: Perform trenching, digging, backfilling, shoveling, sweeping, and cleanup work
Facility Support: Assist with maintenance work, concrete form building, painting, and general housekeeping
Equipment Maintenance: Lubricate and oil equipment; support maintenance teams and respond to callouts
Training & Participation: Attend meetings and training sessions. Support other classifications and plant outage work
Additional Duties: Complete any tasks assigned by management to support plant operations
Qualification
Required
A high school diploma or GED is required
Four years of general plant experience or six years of cement plant experience if joining from outside the company
Proficiency in control systems and computer applications
Strong communication skills
Mechanical aptitude and ability to read diagrams
Mathematical ability related to production measurements
Strong decision-making and safety awareness
Must comply with all safety standards and always wear appropriate PPE
Must be physically able to perform all essential job functions, including the ability to communicate verbally using a phone and radio, to hear verbal commands and audible alarms in order to safely operate around large mobile equipment and automatic conveyor belt systems
Must be able to pass a physical exam to include back x-ray, vision test, hearing test, functional capability evaluation, respiratory fit test and drug / alcohol screen
Employees are expected to work varying shifts as needed, which may include early mornings, late nights, weekends, and holidays to meet operational needs
This position is required to be performed in person at the assigned worksite. Remote work is not available for this role
