Metropolitan Transportation Authority is involved in various transportation projects and is seeking a Technical Specialist 2. This role will engage in all project lifecycle phases, including planning, design, and technical specifications, while providing support for system installations and project construction.
Transportation/Trucking/Railroad

Responsibilities

Assists in the design of various aspects of a project for MTA systems and infrastructure
Performs technical and feasibility studies, including analyzing historical data, surveys, reports, and as-builts to create innovative design projects
Reviews designs, performs/reviews tests and assessments of equipment, software, and materials, and functions/reviews technical calculations
Conducts site visits to obtain existing conditions and correctly identify project design and delivery risks
Provides technical field support for system/equipment installation and project construction
Embraces mentoring from senior staff
Adheres to corporate quality control standards within the area of technical expertise

Required

Bachelor of Science degree in an appropriate technical discipline, Engineering Technology/Engineering Science, or an equivalent subject
Must have a minimum of five (5) years of related experience
Knowledge of the capital design and construction process
Knowledge of relevant industry standards and installation practices
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Proficiency in current design and engineering software and Microsoft Office are required

Preferred

Experience visiting the field for initial scope/survey and construction oversight preferred
