Commissioning Engineer - Renewable Natural Gas (RNG)

The Commissioning Engineer will be responsible for the commissioning of new WAGABOX® units, ensuring all systems are installed and operate according to established standards.

Responsibilities

Developing and implementing detailed commissioning plans, schedules, and procedures for all new US WAGABOX® units
Ensuring all unit systems and components are integrated seamlessly, meeting design specifications and operational standards
Evaluating the performance of each step of the process, identifying areas for improvement, and ensuring optimal unit operations
Implementing and managing leak testing and inerting processes, ensuring safety and gas quality
Maintaining a continuous focus on safety, ensuring all commissioning activities comply with safety regulations and industry standards
Consistently prioritizing process optimization/improvement throughout the commissioning process and making suggestions to Waga Energy R&D and design teams
Identifying, diagnosing, and resolving technical issues during the commissioning phase to ensure smooth plant startup and operation
Maintaining comprehensive documentation of commissioning activities, test results, and performance metrics and presenting information to all project team members
Working in close collaboration with project managers, project engineers, and other team members to ensure successful project delivery and handover to operations
Providing training and support to plant operators on the operation and maintenance of commissioned systems and equipment

Required

A bachelor's degree in process, mechanical, or chemical engineering
A minimum of 3 years of hands-on commissioning experience within the energy, infrastructure, or a related industry
Technical skills in the areas of automation, electricity, process engineering (P&ID, PFD, Hazop, functional analysis, etc.), and mechanical engineering (piping, pressure vessels, etc.)
Knowledge of inerting processes and safety protocols
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Excellent written & verbal communication skills including the ability to effectively build and maintain coworker, client, and vendor/subcontractor relationships
The ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, carrying, and working in varied environmental conditions
Comfortable working in industrial environments such as gas processing, chemical plants, or energy facilities

Preferred

Gas engineering experience is preferred but not required
Familiarity with RNG production processes, systems, and equipment is preferred but not required
