Engineer II

Citizens Energy Group is seeking an Engineer II to join their Plant engineering department. The role involves performing conventional preliminary design engineering and data analysis, as well as coordinating with team members on project tasks.

Responsibilities

Continues to learn and remains current on departmental design guides, standards, systems, engineering codes, and Citizens policies and procedures
Begins to apply knowledge and complies with Citizens Quality Program relative to assigned tasks. Supports continuous improvement and change management efforts
Prepares moderately complex preliminary engineering deliverables. Performs complex research and develops recommendations for distribution system optimization
Assigns tasks and coordinates with other internal/external team members on less complex projects. Initiates contact with other disciplines as needed to identify and coordinate details of the work
Actively seeks to understand client interests and drivers through normal client contract and interaction and communication with project leadership. Applies understanding of client interests and drivers to performance of the work under his/her responsibility. May provide support to business development or pursuit activities
Understands and adheres to budget, schedule, and quality requirements
Performs other duties as assigned

Qualification

Required

Bachelor's Degree in engineering from either an ABET accredited program or a recognized accredited program in their home country, or sufficient education acceptable by management
Valid driver's license in the United States, or alternate approved by management. State of Indiana driver's license required within 30 days of first day of employment
Must have a safe driving record including no history of serious traffic violations, accidents, suspensions/revocations, or DUI/DWI convictions within the last three years
Bachelor's Degree in engineering from either an ABET accredited program or a recognized accredited program in their home country, or sufficient education acceptable by management
2 years of related experience or 1 year of Citizens experience
Valid driver's license in the United States, or alternate approved by management. State of Indiana driver's license required within 30 days of first day of employment
Must have a safe driving record including no history of serious traffic violations, accidents, suspensions/revocations, or DUI/DWI convictions within the last three years

Preferred

Completion of engineering training program
Basic knowledge of engineering design and applicable guides and standards related to assigned engineering discipline. Basic knowledge of Citizens Quality Program, construction and constructability practices, and principles
General understanding and ability to work with computer software in a Windows environment. Ability to work cooperatively in a team setting. Ability to work in office and field environment. A basic understanding of utility systems
Completion of engineering training program
Intermediate knowledge of engineering design, and applicable guides and standards related to assigned engineering discipline. Intermediate ability to interpret engineering deliverable content as assigned. Basic knowledge of Citizens Quality Program, construction and constructability practices, and principles
Experienced in computer software in a Windows environment, Microsoft Office applications, and Oracle databases. Ability to work in office and field environment. Detailed understanding of utility systems
