Responsibilities
Answers, evaluates and facilitates incoming calls to the Beverly and Addison Gilbert Hospitals, Lahey Outpatient Center in Danvers and associated medical offices
Responsible for answering the hospital emergency code phone and following written procedure including sending page messages to the code team
Documenting specific patient and required information into the hospital code record
Utilizing the two way radio communication system to keep the hospital security team up to date with emergency situations
Monitors safety/security alarms for inpatient and the emergency departments, operating room gases and fire alarm system for Addison Gilbert Hospital
Partners with the medical staff to assist in the completion of decedent paperwork utilizing the Massachusetts state death registry website
Regularly communicates with funeral homes to coordinate decedent transfer out of the hospital
Qualification
Required
Ability to answer, evaluate and facilitate incoming calls
Ability to follow written procedures for emergency codes
Experience documenting patient information into hospital records
Ability to utilize two-way radio communication systems
Monitoring safety/security alarms for inpatient and emergency departments
Knowledge of operating room gases and fire alarm systems
Ability to assist in the completion of decedent paperwork
Regular communication with funeral homes for decedent transfers
