Cardiologist – ECG Interpretation for AI Research (Remote)
The UVA VEC is inviting board-certified or board-eligible Cardiologists to contribute to a specialized research project supporting one of the world’s leading AI labs. This role focuses on advanced ECG/EKG interpretation, clinical reasoning, and reviewing complex cardiac cases to help improve the accuracy of large-scale medical AI systems.

Responsibilities
Produce gold-standard ECG interpretations with clear diagnostic reasoning
Analyze complex or ambiguous ECG cases, including edge cases and nuanced differentials
Identify gaps and common failure patterns in model reasoning
Collaborate with research teams to refine evaluation frameworks and case quality
Provide structured clinical feedback in a research environment
Qualification
Required
Hold an MD or DO from an accredited institution
Completed Internal Medicine residency and a Cardiology fellowship
Are board-certified or board-eligible in Cardiovascular Disease
Have 2+ years of post-training clinical experience
Regularly interpret ECGs in clinical practice
Are currently based in the United States
Communicate clinical reasoning clearly in writing
Preferred
Fellowship training in Electrophysiology
Significant experience interpreting complex arrhythmias and conduction abnormalities
Academic or teaching experience
Experience writing case-based assessments, exam questions, or structured evaluations
