Responsibilities

Compose routine correspondence, such as form letters or standard replies to inquiries
Compute simple numerical data -- addition, subtraction, multiplication and division
Maintain and upkeep the vicinage records storage database system with new records, file moves/placement
Coordinate, communicate, and provide quality customer service to vicinage records' liaisons, division managers, judges, staff, and outside agencies regarding all records related projects including the coordination of file storage at the off-site warehouse, file transfers, and file destruction in conjunction with AOC protocols
Provide coverage in the Mailroom including receiving insured, special delivery, express, certified or registered mail
Sort, collect, organize, route and distribute files, mail, cards, letters, material, and packages and/or office supplies
Operating postage meter machines; including but not limited to, gathering monthly meter expenses and computing monthly reports
Operate a passenger vehicle or light duty truck or van to deliver mail, transport supplies, and furniture
Transporting vehicle fleet for maintenance and repair services
Keep motor vehicles supplied with gas, oil, water, air for tires, and emergency supplies
Secure (obtain) titles, registrations and insurance cards for fleet vehicles
The routine transportation and move of files, boxes, supplies, furniture, technology equipment, and all other related items or deliveries throughout the eight (8) vicinage office buildings and/or the off-site storage facility
Assist with the relocation and moves of offices and judges' chambers throughout the vicinage
Lift and move heavy objects (up to 50 lbs.) with or without the use of a hand truck or cart as needed; stoop, climb, bend, and stretch to reach job-related materials
Provide coverage to other General Operations units as needed
Participate in vicinage events and court sessions by setting up plexiglass barriers, podium, sound system, and seating, as needed
Participate in team/work unit meetings
Provide cross-training to co-workers, I.e., demonstrate to other staff how you perform your work
Display a high level of effort and commitment towards performing work
Present self and work product in a professional manner
Perform other related duties as required

Required

Applicants selected to interview must pass an appointing authority administered examination to demonstrate keyboarding skills at the Judiciary standard of at least 25 words per minute, or must have otherwise demonstrated this competency as detailed below
Candidates selected to serve in a bilingual variant title must pass the New Jersey Civil Service Commission Bilingual Communicative Ability Test (BICAT) performance examination or provide proof of having established bilingual proficiency with the New Jersey Civil Service Commission
Regular and predictable physical presence at the worksite is an essential function of this position
Every applicant should be aware that if selected for this position, you must be prepared to work on-site in Cumberland County (Bridgeton, NJ), Gloucester County (Woodbury & Deptford, NJ), and Salem County (Salem, NJ)
For some positions, applicants must have the ability to perform work which requires climbing and prolonged standing, stretching, bending and reaching to perform the essential duties of the position
For some positions, the selected candidate must be able to frequently lift and carry supplies weighing from 30 to 50 pounds and, occasionally, materials weighing up to 75 pounds, in order to perform essential duties of the position
Appointees will be required to possess a driver's license valid in New Jersey only if the operation of a vehicle is necessary to perform essential duties of the position
Selected candidate must be authorized to work in the US according to Department of Homeland Security, US Citizenship and Immigration Services regulations
Newly hired employees must agree to a thorough background check that will include fingerprinting
In accordance with N.J.S.A. 52:14-7 (L. 2011, Chapter 70), the 'New Jersey First Act,' all persons newly hired by the Judiciary within one year must establish, and then maintain, principal residence in the State of New Jersey
