Energy Engineering Intern

Responsibilities
Gather and validate energy usage data (electricity, gas, water) from various sources such as utility bills, internal systems, and vendor platforms
Input and maintain data in benchmarking tools (e.g., ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager)
Analyze energy performance trends across stores and prepare summary reports for management
Assist in identifying underperforming locations and recommend areas for improvement
Support compliance with corporate sustainability goals and regulatory requirements
Collaborate with facilities, operations, property management and procurement teams to ensure accurate data collection
Prepare presentations and dashboards to communicate findings to stakeholders
Qualification
Required
Knowledge of energy efficiency principles and sustainability practices
Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau)
Interest in grocery retail operations or energy management
Must be currently enrolled in junior or senior year working towards a bachelor's degree in environmental science, Engineering, Sustainability, Business, or related field
Strong analytical and data management skills; proficiency in Excel required
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Preferred
Familiarity with energy benchmarking tools (e.g., ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager)
