The Fund Manager provides comprehensive financial, payroll, and personnel leadership for the department, overseeing complex budgets and ensuring compliance with University and funding agency policies.

Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive financial, payroll, and personnel leadership for an academic department
Oversee complex budgets that support faculty, staff, students, and research programs
Manage departmental operating funds, grants, gifts, and special program allocations
Prepare and monitor budgets
Ensure compliance with University and funding agency policies
Serve as a key advisor to department leadership on fiscal planning and resource management
Oversee academic and staff personnel actions, payroll administration, and post-award grant management
Collaborate closely with campus partners to support the department’s teaching, research, and service mission
Qualification
Required
Demonstrated analytical skill in financial analysis, planning, budget preparation, management and administration
Skill in using complex databases and Excel
Knowledge of departmental record retention policies and procedures
Skill in understanding, negotiating, and analyzing information to formulate excellent fiscal practices, policies and procedures
Demonstrated oral and written communication skills. Interpersonal skills to effectively work with a wide range of constituents
Ability to work independently, establish priorities, accomplish goals and make decisions effectively
Bachelor's Degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training
Preferred
Knowledge of University accounting principles and practices
Knowledge of Academic and Staff Personnel policies and procedures
Knowledge of University payroll and benefits policies and procedures
Knowledge of contract and grant administration policies and procedures
Knowledge of University purchasing and travel policies and procedures
Working knowledge of UCLA systems
