Responsibilities

Leads the Driver Services Compliance Unit which processes complex driver record transactions related to license reinstatement following suspensions, which may include DUIs, DUACs, and other alcohol and drug related offenses
Directs the workload and scheduling of subordinate employees and ensures work is completed with accuracy and efficiency
Monitors employee work to ensure accuracy and timeliness
Research and evaluate information to verify completeness and accuracy when determining whether applicants are qualified to reinstate driving privileges
Responsible for answering calls, emails, or other messages from both internal and external stakeholders, and ensuring unit is well staffed to support calls branch office hours. Trains team members and supports them when necessary to answer questions related to reinstatement
Triages customer questions when needed, which may include issue resolution
Acts and trains subordinate staff to act as a DMV Liaison member for South Carolina Alcohol and Drug Safety Action Program (ADSAP) and South Carolina Probation Pardon and Parole (PPP)
Manages projects related to compliance, DUI, IID, and other opportunities, as well as ensure all supervisory related items - completing EPPs, conducting interviews, disciplinary actions, when applicable, time approvals, policy and training requirements and acknowledgments - are completed in a timely manner
Adopts a mindset of continuous improvement and works with Senior Manager to see improvements come to fruition

Required

A bachelor's degree and relevant program experience. An equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be accepted with prior approval
Must complete a nationwide criminal background check to include finger printing
Ability to plan, organize, direct and review the work of office supervisor and driver services specialists who report to the supervisor
Ability to effectively communicate and process complex driver's licensing compliance requirements, to include DUI/Ignition Interlock policies and procedures to customers and employees
Ability to write clear, concise instructions and reports
Performs work with a high degree of judgement, accuracy, and confidentiality
Must be able to lead and manage a unit of employees, be organized, and complete tasks in a timely manner
Responsible for managing the office supervisor of the Driver Services Compliance Unit which includes DUI and IID compliance
The office manager reports to the Senior Manager of Driver Records and receives general supervision under that position's direction
Climate-controlled office environment in-person at SCDMV Headquarters in Blythewood, South Carolina
Must have the ability to lift 10-15 pounds
Limited travel may occur which would primarily be in the State of South Carolina but may extend beyond typical work hours

Preferred

A bachelor's degree and four (4) years of relevant driver services experience
