Responsibilities
Work backward from customer input and product requirements to plan and build product development roadmap
Work with external vendors and partner teams to collaborate on development
Deliver using Agile/Scrum development methodology and software development practices
Drive innovation on architecture and feature design details
Work closely with Hardware, Software, Firmware, validation teams, to drive product integration
Build at-scale operational excellence into product development and deployment practices
Hire, mentor and grow the organization to deliver the product roadmap
Lead planning and Sprint ceremonies
Design Reviews and technical discussions
Manage software practices and integrations
Audit and drive actions on validation reports
Lead product operational review
Report progress and updates in Leadership review
1:1's with team, peers, partner teams
Drive cross-functional technical engagements
Audit plans, identity and drive initiatives
Qualification
Required
3+ years of engineering team management experience
5+ years of designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
7+ years of working directly within engineering teams experience
Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations
Experience partnering with product or program management teams
Preferred
Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers
Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy
Experience with server, storage, networking, or large-scale distributed systems
Experience in Agile or Scrum software development methodologies
Knowledge of AWS services including compute, storage, networking, security, databases, machine learning, and serverless technologies
Hands-on experience with SSD based storage systems, including Flash Translation Layer, NAND interface layer development
Hands on experience with one or more of the following protocol stacks including block storage (NVMe, SAS/SATA), networking (Ethernet, TCP/IP) and interface (PCIe, USB, I2C)
Excellent written communication and verbal skills
