Information Management Specialist

Qsource is seeking an Information Management Specialist responsible for maintaining and improving a data collection system in accordance with CMS requirements. The role involves ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of data entry, conducting daily data activities, and assisting facilities with compliance and reporting.

Responsibilities

Accountable for the accurate entry of information contained on the CMS 2728, 2746 and 2744 forms entered by the facilities into the CMS specified software, as directed in the Data Users’ Guide and ESRD Network Administration Manual
Compiles, sorts, and verifies accuracy of data to be entered. Keeps record of work completed. Reviews error reports and enters corrections into computer
Conducts required daily data activities to maintain the accuracy and validity of the provider and patient database, and to meet CMS required work products
Assists the Data Manager in monitoring and assisting facilities to meet their CROWNWeb data entry requirements
Eliminates duplicate records, corrects electronic input errors, and resolves out-of-scope patients
Works with the CMS contractor on REMIS Alerts/Notifications and batch data
Reviews and corrects provider data submissions
Monitors facility compliance in forms submission as requested by CMS
Assists providers to develop accurate CMS-2744 reports
Acts as a liaison to facility personnel and Social Security offices on data issues
Answers questions and provides routine instruction to ESRD facility personnel on CMS forms (i.e., 2728, 2744 and 2746) and customary facility reporting requirements
Assists in EQRS user registration and answering questions related to usage
Serves as the primary contact with facility staff for all EQRS issues
Assists the Information Project Manager in conducting software training to designated ESRD facilities
Provides technical assistance to facility staff as requested by facilities or CMS
Acts as the backup Security Point of Contact (SPOC) for all CMS security-related activities and processes
Performs data analysis as requested by Data Manager or Executive Director
Assists with Network Data project activities, including sending information, contacting project participants, collecting applicable data, and tracking project status
Maintains comprehensive knowledge of and complies with all CMS data and confidentiality requirements
Routinely, or at a minimum, annually, develops, reviews, and updates all procedure and process descriptions related to job duties

Required

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required
Minimum of two (2) years of progressively responsible experience in a related field
Must have strong interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively interact with external and internal customers/staff
Must have good attention to detail and accuracy
Proficiency in computer skills and Microsoft Office products: spreadsheet, word processing, email, Internet browser and database software; and contact management systems
Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision and take the initiative to investigate and resolve problems using sound judgment
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals

Preferred

Medical terminology is desirable
