CAR-ECHO TECH REG
University of Michigan Health-Sparrow is seeking a Cardiac Echo Tech to produce ultrasonic recordings of the heart for diagnostic purposes. The role involves selecting and using ultrasound equipment, explaining processes to patients, and assisting in various diagnostic procedures.

Responsibilities
Appropriately selects and uses equipment in ultrasound setup according to specifications of examination
Accurately explains process to patient and instructs and assists patient in assuming physical position for examination
Supervises and trains student sonographers as requested
Communicates with, assists, and reviews images with Cardiologist as needed or requested
Responsible for keeping all ultrasound equipment
Collects QI data as necessary
May be required to perform other diagnostic procedures. Diagnostic procedures may include, cardiac stress testing, cardiac event monitoring, Echocardiograms, Electroencephalograms, Holter monitoring, and Electrocardiograms
Qualification
Required
Registered with RDMS or CCI or registry eligible and successfully pass the registry within (1) year of employment
BLS
Accredited ultrasound or echocardiography program or an equivalent
Demonstrates ability to use a keyboard as may be required to perform the essential duties of the job
Preferred
ACLS
One year experience as a cardiac sonographer
