Responsibilities
Lead and execute mechanical designs for containerized BESS solutions
Develop mechanical layouts including battery racks, enclosures, HVAC systems, ducting, airflow paths, and service access
Design and review thermal management and cooling strategies for high-power energy systems
Generate detailed 3D models, drawings, and BOMs using CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks)
Collaborate closely with electrical, controls, and manufacturing teams to ensure system integration
Support prototype builds, testing, and field feedback incorporation
Ensure designs meet applicable codes, standards, and best practices (industrial, electrical, fire, and safety considerations) needed
Assist with design standardization and continuous improvement initiatives
Provide technical support during manufacturing, commissioning, and deployment
Qualification
Required
BSc in Electrical Engineering or Automation Engineering
7+ years of experience in automation and Siemens PLC programming or related industry
Proficiency in Siemens TIA Portal, Step 7, and WinCC
Knowledge of power electronics, motor drives, energy storage, and grid integration
Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, electrical schematics, and power system documentation
Experience with communication protocols (PROFINET, PROFIBUS, MODBUS, OPC UA, etc.)
Knowledge of functional safety (IEC61508, etc)
Senior Mechanical Engineer: 6 years (Required)
has strong hands-on mechanical design: 6 years (Required)

Preferred
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
7+ years of professional mechanical engineering experience
Strong experience with mechanical system design for industrial or containerized equipment
Proficiency with 3D CAD software (SolidWorks or similar)
Experience producing fabrication-ready drawings and documentation
Ability to work onsite and collaborate cross-functionally
Strong problem-solving and communication skills
Experience with cooling systems, HVAC, or thermal management
Background in energy storage, power generation, data centers, or industrial equipment
Familiarity with containerized systems or modular equipment design
Exposure to BESS, power electronics enclosures, or high-heat-density systems
Understanding of environmental considerations (temperature extremes, airflow, corrosion, vibration)
