Mechanical Engineer

The role involves contributing to projects, participating in assembly and fabrication, and assisting in the preparation of design documentation.

Responsibilities
Contributes to small projects and works with others on small features from design feasibility to manufacturing, using an understanding of Cisco standard design and implementation processes and procedures
Participates in the assembly and fabrication of Cisco products, following guidelines. Works with NPE (new product engineer) to release design to manufacturing
Participates in mechanical design, failure analysis, environmental testing and verification plans Performs prototyping and testing under supervision from senior engineers
Assists in compiling the list of needed materials in product design (BoM)
Prepares mechanical design guides, application notes, datasheets and other supporting technical collateral
Participates in the request for quotation process
Partners with senior engineers on DVT processes and performs basic tagging
Drafts prototypes of mechanical systems, equipment and packaging following design and prototyping guidelines
Applies an understanding of MCAD software
Becomes aware of thermal and electronic solutions as part of the mechanical design considerations
Qualification
Required
Bachelors
(1-3) years of previous experience
