Entry, Mid, Senior Level, Lead/StaffNEOGOV is seeking a Crime Lab Analyst to join the Louisiana State Police Crime Laboratory, dedicated to providing accurate and timely forensic analysis. This role involves conducting forensic analyses, communicating with law enforcement, and assisting with quality control and accreditation functions.

Responsibilities
Conducts advanced level forensic analysis on evidence and reference specimens related to criminal activity
Demonstrates advanced knowledge of casework, collects data and establishes facts, interprets finding, and draws valid conclusions in conjunction with scientific analysis
Performs technical and administrative (if authorized) reviews of case work performed by other analysts
Communicates effectively with and provides detailed information to law enforcement and prosecutorial agencies regarding forensic services
Assists with supervisory and quality control personnel with quality control and accreditation functions such as inspections, audits, reviewing policies, and procedures, reviewing and proposing recommendations on operations and conducting research regarding scientific advancements
Demonstrates competency and proficiency by participating in an approved testing program(s)
Assists other laboratory or agency personnel with routine administrative tasks related to the support of forensic operations such as inventory, purchasing, budgeting, tours, escorting of guests, etc
Qualification
Required
A baccalaureate degree with twelve semester hours in biology or chemistry and an additional twelve semester hours in a biological science, chemistry, forensic science, molecular physics, physics, criminalistics or pharmacology
A combination of coursework is allowed
Applicants must meet the current educational requirements of the hiring agency's accrediting body for the laboratory
Any college hours or degree must be from an accredited college or university
Criminal Justice is not considered a qualifying educational field
