AI Applications Intern
Samsung Electronics America, Inc. is a leader in mobile technologies and consumer electronics, and they are seeking a highly motivated AI Applications Intern to contribute to the development and implementation of AI-driven solutions. The intern will collaborate with cross-functional teams within the eCom Fulfillment Operations Department to enhance operational efficiency and drive significant business impact through innovative AI solutions.

Responsibilities
Conduct research and analyze competitors' AI-driven fulfillment operations to identify best practices and innovative approaches
Gain a comprehensive understanding of the team's fulfillment processes and identify potential areas where AI can be integrated to improve efficiency and effectiveness
Develop a prioritized list of AI use cases, focusing on those with the highest potential ROI and KPI impact
Assist the AI crew in ongoing projects by contributing to data collection, documentation, and research efforts
Qualification
Required
Currently pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, or a related field
Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, Java, or R
Experience with machine learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch) and libraries (e.g., Scikit-learn)
Familiarity with data analysis and visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI)
Good communication skills for effective collaboration with technical and non-technical stakeholders
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
Knowledge of AI concepts such as natural language processing (NLP), computer vision, or predictive analytics
Preferred
Proficient in a programming language such as Python or R (preferred, but not necessary)
Experience with data analysis and visualization tools such as SQL, Tableau, Power BI, or Power Query
Cursory knowledge of AI/ML algorithm frameworks and their applications
Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities to tackle complex challenges effectively
Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and stakeholders
Ability to work well in a team environment, contributing to shared goals and objectives
Ability to work independently, taking initiative to complete tasks and projects
Strong time management skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines efficiently
A high-level understanding of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) concepts and their practical applications
Ability to apply AI/ML principles to solve real-world problems within the eCom fulfillment domain
Strong research capabilities to gather, analyze, and interpret data effectively
Proficiency in conducting in-depth analysis to derive actionable insights and support decision-making processes
High-level familiarity with eCommerce operations, including understanding of the end-to-end supply chain processes
Knowledge of key metrics, challenges, and trends in eCom fulfillment and supply chain management
Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders
Ability to document findings, processes, and recommendations clearly and concisely
Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including data manipulation, analysis, and visualization
Experience in creating complex spreadsheets, pivot tables, and charts to support data-driven decision-making
Hands-on experience with AI prompting techniques to generate relevant and accurate responses from AI models
Familiarity with optimizing prompts for specific tasks and improving the quality of AI-generated outputs
Develop predictive models for classification (e.g., spam detection) and regression (e.g., inventory forecasting and capacity planning)
Evaluate model performance using metrics like accuracy, precision, recall, and score
