Responsibilities
Prepare and file pleadings, discovery requests/responses, and other legal documents
Assist attorneys with discovery, trial preparation, filings, and case management
Manage case calendars, deadlines, and client communications
Organize and maintain case files (electronic) including recording and monitoring court appearances, pleading, and filing deadlines
Record and monitor court appearance dates, pleadings, and filing deadlines
Coordinate with courts, clients, and opposing counsel
Understand and maintain client confidence by keeping client/attorney information confidential
Conduct factual investigation and research as needed
Overseeing administrative functions of a small law office including ordering supplies, communicating with outside vendors and supporting lawyers in various administrative capacities
Qualification
Required
Minimum 5 years of experience as a paralegal in New Jersey civil litigation
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to prioritize deadlines and manage varied tasks
Ability to perform authorized billable paralegal tasks and to contemporaneously and accurately enter/track time spent on such tasks
Ability to work collaboratively with attorneys and staff
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and case management software
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Preferred
Civil defense experience
