Analyze project plans, specifications, and related documents to prepare comprehensive cost estimates for fire systems
Collaborate with engineering, sales, and project management teams to gather technical and cost information
Perform material take-offs and labor estimates for fire alarm and special hazard
Utilize estimating software (e.g., AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Trimble, Accubid) to aid in the preparation of bids
Source pricing from vendors and subcontractors; maintain up-to-date pricing
Prepare detailed bid proposals and ensure compliance with relevant codes, regulations, and industry standards (e.g., NFPA, NEC, local fire codes)
Attend pre-bid meetings, site visits, and client meetings as
Assist in project handoff to operations team, ensuring clarity and accuracy of the
Assist with preparing jobs for
Maintain records of estimates and update historical data for future
Qualification
Required
3+ years of experience in fire systems estimating or a related field (fire protection, construction, MEP)
Strong understanding of fire detection systems (including alarm, sprinkler, suppression, )
Proficient with estimation tools and software (e.g., Bluebeam, AutoCAD, Microsoft Excel)
Knowledge of relevant codes and standards (e.g., NFPA, UL, FM, OSHA)
Excellent analytical and mathematical
Strong communication and organizational
Preferred
NICET Certification in Fire Alarm Systems or Sprinkler Systems (Level I or higher)
Background in electrical, mechanical, or fire protection
Experience working in a design-build or contracting
