Intern - Trade Desk Surveillance Analyst

Responsibilities

Assist the Trade Desk Surveillance (TDS) group in daily review and resolution of daily exceptions relating to trading activity, trade reporting, and order handling generated by the firm’s order management systems, trade reporting systems, surveillance systems and clearing firm systems
Effectively communicate with TDS associates, trading desk personnel, operations, compliance to resolve exceptions, escalating issues to management as necessary
Analysis and review of CAT (Consolidated Audit Trail) and trade data, including linkage and named errors, to help identify errors and inconsistencies for prompt repair/resubmission
Gain knowledge of the broker/dealer’s regulatory requirements, FINRA/SEC/Exchange rules, and how the surveillance team detects potential issues in compliance with a variety of rules
Use research and technical skills for problem solving with ad hoc tasks for TDS and other departments that may include Trading, Compliance or AML teams
Work in an Equity Trading environment – alongside a live Equities Market Making, capital risk trading desk

Required

Pursuing a bachelor's degree from an accredited university in a relevant program and graduating between December 2026 and August 2027 (entering penultimate year of university)
Available for a June 2026 start date for an 8 – 10-week program
Must be authorized to work in the US for any employer
Ability to maintain confidentiality and appropriately handle sensitive information with tact and discretion
Strong verbal/written communication abilities and effective interpersonal skills
Strong sense of urgency
Strong work ethic and emphasis on attention to detail
Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (preferably Excel)
