Responsibilities
Develop and maintain robust database infrastructure utilizing DevOps principles to ensure scalability, reliability, and security
Automate database deployment, scaling, and management processes to streamline operations and reduce manual intervention
Implement and manage monitoring and alerting tools to proactively identify and resolve performance issues, ensuring high database availability
Collaborate with software development teams to support continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines, facilitating rapid and reliable software releases
Troubleshoot and resolve complex database-related issues promptly to minimize downtime and maintain system integrity
Ensure all database systems adhere to security standards and compliance requirements, implementing necessary controls and audits
Manage backup, recovery, and data archival processes to safeguard critical information
Support all phases of the software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, design, implementation, testing, and deployment
Write efficient, well-structured, and testable code following best practices and software design principles
Respond to customer inquiries by providing expert troubleshooting and analysis of complex problems, ensuring customer satisfaction and operational excellence
Continually evaluate and improve processes, tools, and workflows to increase efficiency, reliability, and security of database operations
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree with at least 9 years of relevant programming experience or a Graduate Degree with 7 years of experience
Minimum of 13 years of programming experience without a degree will also be considered
Proven expertise in Linux administration
Shell scripting
Python
PowerShell
Hands-on experience with DevOps tools such as CI/CD pipelines, Ansible, Jenkins, Terraform, Groovy, YAML, and JSON
Strong knowledge of database management systems like Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB
Experience with virtual machine and hypervisor management, networking, and storage in Linux environments
Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance
U.S. citizenship
Preferred
Cloud platform certifications
Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform
Familiarity with cloud services (AWS, Azure, GCP)
Containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
