Responsibilities

Design and deploy enterprise mechanisms that elevate leadership capability, ensuring leaders can effectively define, cascade, and execute company strategy and culture
Advance talent management excellence by developing tools, processes, programs, systems, and training that strengthen leaders’ ability to assess, develop, and manage talent
Engage and influence a diverse network of global stakeholders, ensuring broad alignment, adoption, and inclusive execution of talent management programs and processes
Serve as an integrator across the enterprise, ensuring consistent communication, alignment of priorities, and seamless coordination with both HR and business leaders
Oversees team performance, talent development, engagement, and inclusion while communicating departmental and strategic priorities
Sets and manages performance expectations, conducts performance reviews, and leads ongoing coaching and career development for team members
Defines team structure and workforce plans to ensure capability and capacity align to business needs
Holds full accountability for hiring, promotions, rewards, and overall team culture and performance
Leads a department or small business unit with multiple layers of leadership
Provides motivational, thought, and technical leadership with minimal direction
Exercises autonomy in decision-making, including some strategic decisions with enterprise impact
Shapes strategy for the functional area and ensures alignment to Medtronic’s priorities
Makes decisions that directly impact financial performance, workforce outcomes, and organizational reputation
Typically holds budget or P&L accountability for the department or functional area
Drives cross-functional, enterprise-wide projects to completion with excellence in execution
Creates clarity, alignment, and disciplined project rigor across complex organizational structures
Builds deep, strategic relationships across HR and business leadership ecosystems
Communicates effectively with senior and executive leaders, influencing decisions and driving shared ownership of talent management outcomes
Navigates divergent stakeholder interests to create aligned, enterprise-focused solutions
Leads managers and supervisors responsible for executing talent management and leadership development initiatives
Determines supervisory relationships and builds long-range staffing and capability plans
Directs and advances all core TM processes, including performance management, succession planning, and potential assessment
Demonstrates mastery of core Talent Management disciplines and can lead enterprise processes from strategy to execution
Drives innovation across the function, elevating practices and encouraging best-practice sharing
Leads significant improvements to processes, systems, and operating models
Navigates complex, ambiguous challenges requiring deep analysis, cross-functional collaboration, and strategic problem-solving
Skilled in HR technology, systems, data, and analytics, leveraging insights to inform decisions and improve program effectiveness

Required

Bachelors degree 10 years of combined HRBP/Talent Management experience with 7 years of managerial experience, or an advanced degree and 8 years of combined HRBP/Talent Management experience with 7 years of managerial experience
Experience with HR systems, data and analytics

Preferred

Skilled in communicating, influencing, and leading the organization in talent management programs across the enterprise
Ability to coordinate communication among various stakeholders, handling complex operating structures involving both HR and business leaders
